Rules for obtaining a visa to Azerbaijan

Entry to Azerbaijan for citizens of Georgia, as well as CIS countries (except Turkmenistan and Armenia), is carried out without a visa. Citizens of Turkey can stay in Azerbaijan without a visa for 1 month
Since February 1, 2016, a simplified visa issuance regime has been introduced for citizens of Qatar, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Japan, China, South Korea, Malaysia and Singapore at international airports of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The duration of temporary stay in the Republic of foreigners and stateless persons is determined by the period of stay in the country indicated in the visa. The duration of temporary stay in the Republic of foreigners and stateless persons who arrived on a visa-free basis cannot exceed 90 (ninety) days. Foreigners and stateless persons must apply to the relevant authorities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for registration at the place of residence within 10 (ten) days (except weekends and holidays) www.mia.gov.az.
In order to extend the period of temporary stay in the country, foreigners and stateless persons (who arrived on a visa or visa-free basis) can apply to the State Migration Service no later than 7 (seven) working days before the expiration of the period of stay in Azerbaijan.

Attention: if less than 3 months remain before the expiration of the passport or identity card, a visa is not issued.
The cost of the visa depends on the cost of the visa fee of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in your country. For detailed information, contact the embassy or consulate of the Republic of Azerbaijan located in the country of which you are a citizen.

Electronic tourist visa
Since March 15, 2013, a new procedure for obtaining electronic tourist visas has been applied in Azerbaijan.
Tourists need to provide all the necessary information to one of the national tourism companies listed below or their foreign partners, after which the national companies prepare the relevant documents and apply to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA). After the electronic visa is confirmed by the relevant authorities (which takes 5 working days), it is sent to the tourist in electronic format. The procedure for issuing an electronic tourist visa after sending all the necessary documents takes 5 working days. To enter Azerbaijan, a tourist only needs to print out this document and show it at the border.
The validity period of the electronic visa is 30 days. The cost of the electronic visa is 20 US dollars.
